DAVAO CITY: FIRE PREVENTION MONTH

Once every year the good folks from the Bureau of Fire Protection of the Local Government Unit celebrates the month of March as a "Fire Prevention Month". This initiates a National Campaign on Fire Prevention, where information drives and numerous fire drills are held throughout the city. Fires put out but it is much better if one can prevent it. Disseminating knowledge engages the public to  prevent fires by teaching the public and these can be exercised through surprise fire drills. Although statistics shows decreased fire occurrences from the month of January and February of this year from the previous year, there are still fire incidents happening. So to celebrate "Araw ng Dabaw" worry free of fire, let us take initiative and learn how to prevent fire and what to do, just in case.

SHOCKING: LTO SURPRISE VIOLATIONS

LTO Violation Ticket

Just this first week of January I have to visit our nearest Land Transportation Office for renewing my vehicle registration. I am not a frequent visitor in our local LTO office but as require once in every year, and being an owner of a motorized vehicle, I am required to renew my registration. Every year i have no problems during my registration process, but this year shocked the wits out of me. After passing my filled out form on the first window of the process, my papers were returned to me accompanied by a very shocking find that I had an Alarm (That's what they told me "Sir you have an alarm") It only means one thing in LTO vocabulary, "Violation". I followed it up to the violations section, only to find out that the violation was made on "January 14, 2010" Shock hit me, that's a friggin "2 Years Ago Violation", I didn't even know how that happened, was it me or was it my dad who was driving that time. All I know is that it's freaking insane.

But its the law, and I paid P477 pesos for it so that I could finish my registration within the day. After a couple of hours not to mention the 30 minute interval that I have to wait for the violation to be removed, and the fact that every year during January registrations doesn't have validation stickers available. So, a law is a law and no man is above the law (except those who knows what they are doing) we respect in our beloved country.

So, to help you guys a bit here is a small tip before you go an get yourself brushed out for money during renewal of registration:
